MEET RODNEY ELESIE

I am Rodney Elesie. As I reflect on my journey, I realize the road behind me is longer than the road ahead, and I am committed to using that experience to serve our community.

Having lived in the Ward for over 30 years and in Hamilton for more than 50, I have dedicated much of my life to working with local schools to make our children’s lives safer and more secure. Professionally, I bring the precision and accountability of an internal audit technician for a Fortune 500 company.

Having lived, worked, and raised my family here, I am running for Ward Councilor because I believe downtown Hamilton deserves a representative who truly shows up, listens, and delivers. I am not a career politician; I am a dedicated neighbor committed to fixing the basics.

My wife, Nancy, and I have long been active in our community—volunteering at our church, organizing food drives, and coordinating clothing donations for those in need. Our commitment to service extends to advocating for safe streets, participating in neighborhood watch programs, and working closely with the Coalition for Child Safety Legislation. I believe deeply in looking after one another, which is why I spent every day throughout the COVID-19 pandemic on the streets of downtown Hamilton providing food and water to those in need.

I look forward to working together to build a brighter, stronger future for everyone in Ward 2.
